I hate these teaser tours for books like this. I’ve read the teaser, now I want to read the damn book. When does the book come out? Next week. What’s gonna happen by next week? I will have completely forgotten this exists.
Ever since Mike Pence announced on Jan. 6 that he lacked power to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 election in Congress, it’s been widely suggested that the vice president was one of the few heroes in this ugly tale.

But new revelations in the forthcoming book by Post reporters Bob Woodward and Robert Costa cast doubt on this account. And the new details also hint at lines of inquiry about Jan. 6 that will shape aspects of the House select committee’s examination of those events.
And please don’t tell me about pre-ordering, I really hate pre-ordering. I pre-order, but the money doesn’t come out when I click the button, it comes out like a week or a month later, well after I’ve forgotten, and then suddenly everything’s bouncing.
Just gimme the damn book, people.
