Re: ‘Too Cautious’

I can’t believe that here in the ass-end of 2021 with COVID cases surging and all the hell on Earth we’re dealing with we still have these chodes whining about people being “too cautious.” Assholes.

German Lopez on Twitter: "Based on my conversations with normal vaccinated people who don't follow news or Twitter much, they all really do understand the vaccine protects them from the worst and they can mostly live normally again. The hyper-cautious seem to be a weird minority overrepresented on here."

People. For fucksake. We know the goddamn vaccines work and that we are mostly safe. But “mostly safe” is not “completely safe,” and if we do catch it, we can spread it to other people, like unvaccinated kids and immunocompromised people, who might die.

I have spent the last nearly two years trying not to kill anyone, I’m not about to give up on that now. Jesus.

This pandemic is still happening. People are still dying. The hospitals are still full. The nurses and doctors are still burned out to a crunchy crisp. The unvaccinated kids are headed back to school and we still have crazy grannies screaming at school boards about masks. COVID-19 is still mutating into new variants, any one of which could be even more deadly than the ones we’re currently dealing with.

A little goddamn caution is still warranted.
