The Independent: Trump talks about serving ’14 more years’ as president
The president has previously suggested he only jokes about remaining as president beyond two terms in an effort to provoke liberals, while critics have suggested he does so with a view to gradually normalising the concept among voters.
“In an effort to provoke liberals.” 🙄
Okay, sure, whatever, but let me just point out that the above quote is true. Trump’s “jokes” are how he introduces an outlandish idea and then begins working to normalize it. It’s part of his regular pattern. If you think he’s just kidding about this, you haven’t been paying attention.
